Our Main Fabrics & How They Actually Feel on You
Hey, Atul here from Lavin Lase. If you’re someone who reaches for the same reliable tee or hoodie again and again — the one that just feels right every time — that’s exactly why we put so much thought into the fabrics we use. We don’t chase flashy labels; we chase pieces that become favorites without trying too hard.
It started simple: I kept going back to the same question — what makes a garment stick around in your wardrobe for years instead of ending up in the donate pile? After trying a ton of options (and wearing them out myself), we landed on a few fabrics that consistently deliver that “this is it” feeling. No hype, just materials that hold shape, soften over time, and make everyday wear more comfortable.
Combed & Ring-Spun Cotton (around 180–220 GSM) This is long-staple cotton that’s been combed to remove short fibers and then ring-spun for extra smoothness and strength.
- What you’ll notice: It starts soft and gets even better — no rough patches, hardly any pilling, keeps its shape even after lots of washes, and drapes nicely without feeling heavy or clingy. The surface stays clean and smooth, so details like our laser-etched designs stay sharp wash after wash.
- Great for: Everyday oversized tees (think Solar Level or similar drops) — that effortless, go-to feel you reach for without thinking.
French Terry Cotton (around 220–280 GSM) Smooth on the outside, with those soft loops on the inside — unbrushed so it stays breathable and doesn’t trap heat. Mostly 100% cotton for that natural vibe.
- What you’ll notice: It manages moisture well (no sticky feeling after a long day), feels cozy without being too warm, softens up noticeably with wear, and holds its shape in bigger fits. The loops give that addictive, lived-in comfort that makes you want to throw it on again right away.
- Great for: Hoodies or heavier tees — the kind of layer that becomes your default for chilling or layering.
Heavyweight Cotton & Light Blends Higher weight (300+ GSM) with cotton leading the way, sometimes a touch of poly for extra resilience.
- What you’ll notice: Rich, matte look that doesn’t wrinkle easily, solid drape that keeps the oversized shape looking intentional (not sloppy), and that substantial feel that makes the piece seem built to last. Colors stay vibrant longer, and it just carries itself with quiet confidence.
- Great for: Statement oversized pieces that you end up wearing everywhere.
